I’ve always been very entrepreneurial. I started Siesta Summer after I was discussing with a friend how I wanted to open an event venue. They encouraged me to become an event planner first to get some experience. I didn’t know much about event planning but started looking at what different event planners do, and various types of events I can assist with. I came across some adorable picnics and all seemed to be in California. In my head this was something I needed. I went to a few stores and bought the items to host picnics for just some of my close friends or a date night with my boyfriend. I initially had no intentions of starting a business out of this however, everywhere I turned an article or a sign would be given to me to “just go for it”. 

My first picnic I hosted was a tiny fall/halloween themed picnic using some items from around the house, and a few items I bought. Everyone said it was such a good idea and they loved the idea of it. I started creating more, buying more items and getting more creative with the table sets. Thankfully I have a great friend and my mom who are great at design to create some tables as well and have taught me a lot. 

Now we are here and I am excited to create such a relaxing atmosphere for my picnic guests. It is truly a memorable experience.
